Les 3 Vallées (the three valleys) is well known as the biggest skiing area in the world. But how does that translate to summer?! I suspected a lot of beautiful nature, great for hiking. And my gut feeling was actually right 😉
What to do in Meribel in summer
We went for a hike from Meribel to Col de la Lune, which provided us some great views over the mountains. The sunshine just came through the clouds, it was stunning really!
I definitely recommend that hike, ending in Le Refuge du Christ. One of the best mountain huts I’ve been in. Nice beds, great food, great hottub. As I said in the video: it felt warm in there 🙂
You need to be in good condition for this hike, but it’s not hard. There are signs all along the way, so it’s accessible with and without guide.
Hiking back the next morning, we went horse riding. Just a small round, cause we needed to continue our roadtrip, and I am a beginner only 😉 But it’s fun. Ask for the possibilities in town.
We only had 24 hours in Meribel, and I am sure there is a lot more to explore! Especially when it comes to nature 🙂
I asked Savoie Mont Blanc if they could make this trip possible for us, and they did.
All opinions are my own, as always.
